FUN FACT: Dedicated to showcasing the wonders of children’s literature, Abilene, TX built the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature which grew to include Storybook Sculptures of characters from children’s books. Abilene began an annual event called the Children’s Art & Literacy Festival to celebrate the work of the illustrator on display.
